Florida aesthetic NPs still need a supervising physician
Florida’s autonomous-practice pathway covers only qualifying primary care nurse practitioners — NPs working in aesthetics, IV hydration, and medical weight loss still practice under a written protocol with a supervising physician. Dr. William Starsiak, DO practices aesthetic medicine at Starsiak Aesthetics in Indianapolis alongside Lisa Starsiak, FNP, and supervises aesthetic nurse practitioners across Florida.
His oversight is aesthetic-literate: Fotona lasers, BOTOX® and other neuromodulators, JUVÉDERM® dermal fillers, EMSCULPT NEO® and CoolSculpting® body contouring, IV infusion therapy, and medical weight loss are part of his daily practice. Chart review is done with a working clinician’s eye, and supervision is handled remotely where Florida rules permit.
What supervision includes
- Written protocol drafted and executed
- Chart review per Florida requirements
- Direct phone and text access for clinical questions
- Quality assurance documentation
- Support with credentialing paperwork
Dr. Starsiak also collaborates with aesthetic NPs in Indiana and Texas. His Ohio panel is currently full — waitlist open.
